0:00 The story begins in a diner. Two people
0:02 are sitting together watching the news
0:04 about a serial killer named Mangler and
0:07 his killings. And that's when a man
0:09 named Charlie walks in. The diner
0:11 waitress, Anna, comes over to take his
0:13 order. But Charlie asks her to sit down
0:16 with him. Anna says no, she doesn't know
0:18 him. Charlie says, "But that's how we
0:21 would get to know each other." But Anna
0:23 finds this weird. She just gives him his
0:25 coffee and moves on to the other
0:27 customers. There are also some addicts
0:29 hanging around the diner. They start
0:31 calling Anna mom because she's older.
0:34 One of the guys recognizes her and says,
0:36 "You used to babysit my sister." So,
0:39 when Anna finishes her shift and leaves
0:41 the diner, Charlie is standing outside
0:43 on the street. He offers her a cigarette
0:46 and asks her out on a date, but Anna
0:48 refuses both. Charlie says, "Let's just
0:51 have a chat." Anna keeps walking, but
0:54 Charlie follows her. Anna pulls out
0:56 pepper spray from her bag. Charlie says,
0:58 "I'm just heading to my truck." Anna
1:01 tells him, "Go ahead." But then Charlie
1:04 suddenly pulls out a gun and points it
1:06 at her. "Come with me," he says. Anna
1:09 pleads, "Please, I have a little girl."
1:12 But Charlie drags her into his pickup
1:14 truck. He asks her, "Could you ever see
1:16 yourself with a guy like me?" Terrified,
1:19 Anna says, "Yes." She tells him her day
1:22 has been really bad, but she'd love to
1:24 do something tomorrow. We could even go
1:26 out to dinner somewhere, she says.
1:28 Charlie starts asking, "What would you
1:31 wear?" Anna begins describing a hot
1:33 dress to him. She's going along with
1:35 everything he says just out of fear. But
1:38 then Charlie stabs her, and in the very
1:40 next moment, he's thrown back into the
1:43 past. He's back at the exact moment when
1:45 he first walked into the diner. Here,
1:47 Anna is alive. Charlie can't believe his
1:50 eyes. He doesn't understand how he's
1:52 back in the past. The same people are
1:55 sitting in the diner just like before.
1:57 Charlie goes and sits down in the same
1:59 seat. When Anna comes over to him, he
2:02 asks her what today's date is. He asks,
2:04 "You don't know me?" Anna replies, "Have
2:07 we met?" Charlie is extremely confused
2:10 by all of this. He just gives Anna his
2:13 order. Now, sitting nearby is a man
2:16 named David. Charlie tries to talk to
2:18 him. This man seems very familiar to
2:20 Charlie, but the man doesn't respond to
2:23 anything Charlie says. It's like he
2:25 can't see or hear Charlie at all.
2:27 Charlie gets up and goes back to his
2:29 seat. So, when Anna finishes her shift
2:31 and leaves, the exact same conversation
2:34 happens between them again. Charlie
2:36 follows her again. Anna tells him to go
2:39 ahead again and Charlie pulls his gun on
2:41 her again. Anna says, "I have a little
2:44 girl." Charlie replies, "I know." He
2:47 takes her into his pickup truck and
2:49 kills her again, but once again, he's
2:51 thrown back to the past to that same
2:54 exact moment. Charlie says, "You all are
2:57 messing with me." The other people don't
2:59 understand what he's talking about.
3:01 Charlie tells Anna to lift up her top.
3:04 When another customer, Sam, tries to
3:06 stop him, Charlie pulls out his gun. He
3:09 makes Anna lift her top, but there's no
3:11 knife wound or mark there. Charlie
3:14 doesn't understand how this is possible.
3:16 Sam shoots Charlie with his gun, but
3:18 once again, he's thrown back to the past
3:21 to that same moment. He starts yelling
3:24 at Sam, "You shot me." Charlie storms
3:27 out of the diner in anger. Charlie gets
3:29 in his truck and tries to leave, but he
3:31 came back to that same moment. He tried
3:33 to run away, but that also failed.
3:36 Charlie was trapped in a time loop. In
3:38 his rage, he shoots Sam and walks out.
3:41 Within moments, he's back at that same
3:43 moment again. So, this time, Charlie
3:46 quietly goes and sits down in his seat.
3:49 He even talks nicely to Anna. Charlie
3:51 walks over to the man, David, and says,
3:54 "I haven't figured out who you are yet.
3:56 But if you were in my place, stuck in
3:58 this time loop, what would you do?"
4:00 David doesn't react to anything Charlie
4:03 says. He doesn't say a word. So, Charlie
4:06 stands in front of a girl, blocking her
4:08 way outside the lady's restroom. He goes
4:10 and sits down at a couple's table in the
4:12 diner. "I'm here to get to know you," he
4:15 says. Charlie shows them his gun to
4:17 scare them. "Now, this couple isn't
4:19 married. In fact, they're having an
4:22 extrammarital affair with each other."
4:24 Charlie tells the man, "Your wife sent
4:26 me to kill you." Then Charlie says,
4:29 "Don't worry, I'm just messing with
4:31 you." Charlie goes and sits with two
4:33 nurses in the diner. They don't like him
4:35 sitting there. Both of them get up and
4:37 leave. So, in the next loop, he kills
4:40 one of the nurses before she can even
4:42 come out of the washroom, but he's still
4:44 stuck here. The loop hasn't reset.
4:46 Charlie puts the nurse's body in a cart
4:48 and tries to leave, but one of the
4:50 workers stops him, saying, "That's my
4:53 cart." So, Charlie takes this worker
4:55 outside and shoots him, too. He dumps
4:58 his body in the trash. When the other
5:00 nurse comes outside looking for her
5:02 friend, Charlie tells her, "My pickup is
5:04 right here. We can look around for your
5:06 friend together. But the nurse says,
5:09 "No, I'm good." So Charlie goes back
5:12 inside the diner and sits with Sam and
5:14 Gary. He orders another round of beers
5:16 for them. While serving the beers, Anna
5:19 says, "This is your last round. After
5:21 this, go to a bar. This isn't a bar."
5:24 Then the other nurse comes in from
5:26 outside and says, "Sophie is missing and
5:28 this man was outside." So Charlie gets
5:31 up and sits back down with that couple
5:33 again. He slits the woman's throat. He
5:35 tells her boyfriend, "What you're doing
5:37 is a crime in the Bible." Charlie kills
5:40 him, too. He goes and points his gun at
5:42 the other nurse. He even stops Sam from
5:45 pulling out his gun. He says, "I could
5:47 shoot you all, but there's no fun in
5:49 that." But right then, the diner chef
5:52 comes from behind and kills him. After
5:54 which, in the next loop cycle, Charlie
5:57 starts talking to David again. If you're
5:59 God or something, then think about it.
6:02 If you put a shark in a tank full of
6:03 guppies, what's going to happen? Charlie
6:06 says, "Watch this." He starts killing
6:09 people in the diner. Sometimes he kills
6:11 people. Sometimes the diner's chef kills
6:14 him. But this loop keeps going
6:16 continuously. Charlie, who loves killing
6:18 people, has now killed people in this
6:21 loop in all different ways. He's gotten
6:23 tired of it. He's even memorized every
6:26 word Anna says each time. He asks Anna
6:28 for eggs and bacon, but they don't serve
6:31 breakfast at this time. Charlie says, "I
6:33 know, and I also know there are eggs in
6:36 the fridge. So, go tell your big cook to
6:38 make them." Charlie himself goes and
6:40 puts the eggs in front of the cook. The
6:42 cook tells him to go back to his seat.
6:45 Charlie gets angry and attacks him, but
6:47 the cook is stronger than him. Charlie
6:50 starts talking about the cook in front
6:51 of David. He has some super secret agent
6:54 thing going on. Charlie can't kill him,
6:57 so he thinks maybe if he kills him,
6:59 he'll get out of the loop. Charlie
7:01 starts trying to kill him in different
7:02 ways. The chef beats Charlie every
7:05 single time. Charlie finally just shoots
7:08 him with his gun, makes his eggs and
7:10 bacon, eats them, and then shoots
7:12 himself, after which the loop starts
7:14 again, but this time Charlie sees an old
7:17 man sitting in the diner. Charlie starts
7:19 yelling, but the man disappears. Now
7:22 Charlie is so fed up with this loop that
7:24 tears are about to come out. Anna calls
7:27 the police to get him out of here. The
7:29 police drag him out, but the loop
7:31 restarts again. Charlie is broken. He
7:34 starts saying in front of David, I don't
7:37 know. Then David says, "You don't know
7:39 what." He says, "You really disappoint
7:42 me. You know, I thought you were the
7:44 real one, but you're about to cry." He
7:47 says, "Charlie Sabridge, Ted Bundy,
7:49 Dmer, Ed Gain. If they were in your
7:52 place, think about what they would do.
7:54 What would your father do? So Charlie
7:56 angrily says, "Don't talk about my
7:59 father." Charlie asks, "What the hell am
8:01 I supposed to do?" David says, "You'll
8:04 have to see." Charlie says, "I have
8:07 killed all of them." But David says,
8:09 "But here they are." Charlie says, "So
8:12 what do you want? If I expelled them all
8:15 clean, would that get me out of the
8:16 loop?" Charlie starts cleanly killing
8:19 everyone in the diner one by one. At the
8:22 very end, only Anna is left. Charlie
8:25 takes her to the side. Just then, the
8:27 employee coming in for the shift change
8:29 arrives. Charlie kills her, too. He
8:32 tells Anna, "This is the way it's meant
8:34 to be. I can't keep doing this. I can't
8:37 sleep. I can't die, but I figured it
8:40 out. And you, you are my last." He stabs
8:43 and kills her, too. But Charlie is
8:45 thrown back into the past. The loop has
8:48 reset. Charlie's face looks like he's
8:50 about to cry. He walks out of the diner.
8:52 He can't see any way out of this loop.
8:55 He's mentally exhausted from killing
8:57 people. Charlie sits in his pickup truck
8:59 and starts crying loudly. So in the next
9:02 loop restart, he sees a priest in front
9:04 of him. Charlie goes and sits with him.
9:07 The priest asks him, "What have you
9:09 learned?" Charlie says, "I want to go
9:12 home." The priest asks, "Why are you
9:14 here?" When Charlie says, "I don't
9:17 know," he responds, "Yes, you do."
9:20 Charlie was here for salvation. The
9:22 priest tells him to try. Charlie says,
9:25 "I have done a lot of bad things." The
9:27 priest recites a Bible verse to him and
9:29 says, "You have the power to choose your
9:31 own destiny." So, Charlie crying says,
9:34 "I want to be free. I want forgiveness."
9:38 He asks the priest, "What do I do?" The
9:41 priest says, "Start over." So in the
9:44 next loop cycle, Charlie starts behaving
9:47 well with everyone. He even changes his
9:49 seat. Charlie stops those addicts
9:51 outside before they can enter the diner.
9:54 He pulls out his gun in front of them
9:55 and says, "You two guys, get out of
9:57 here. The diner is closed." He tells the
10:00 young girl, "If you want, I can arrange
10:03 a ride home for you." The girl says, "No
10:06 thanks." and leaves. So Charlie politely
10:09 gives Anna his order. Anna is also more
10:12 friendly with him than before. Charlie
10:14 goes to the nurses and says, "I just
10:16 want to thank you for your service." The
10:18 nurses appreciate his compliment.
10:20 Charlie goes to that couple and says,
10:22 "My dad was a very bad man. He did a lot
10:25 of bad things and he used to beat my
10:27 mom, too. He cheated on my mom and then
10:30 my mom would take it all out on us."
10:32 Charlie says, "Look, I don't know what's
10:35 going on in your homes, but kids know.
10:37 Everyone knows. Just think about them."
10:40 So, this time, David isn't here. Charlie
10:43 enjoys his dinner. He has dinner with
10:45 Gary and Sam, laughing together. Outside
10:48 the diner, Anna herself comes and asks
10:51 him for a cigarette. They start looking
10:53 at the stars in the sky. Anna says her
10:55 daughter knows all about them. She'll
10:57 point out every constellation in the sky
11:00 to you. This time Anna is much more
11:02 comfortable talking to Charlie. Charlie
11:05 walks her to her car. So Anna looks at
11:07 his pickup truck and asks, "Is this

11:26 pulls him closer. She kisses him, but
11:29 Charlie stabs her again. But this time,
11:31 the loop doesn't restart. Instead, the
11:34 scene shifts to a therapeutics facility
11:36 where a board has been watching all
11:38 these events unfold on their screen.
11:40 Actually, everything that just happened
11:42 was a simulation running inside
11:44 Charlie's mind. Charlie had signed up
11:47 for this. So, when he sees Anna there,
11:49 he starts yelling. The doctors explain
11:51 to him that this isn't Anna. He must
11:54 have seen her face before the
11:55 simulation. But Charlie says, "You set
11:58 me up. You interfered. You threw
12:01 yourself onto me." Actually, Charlie is
12:03 a prisoner. And he came to this project
12:05 thinking that by showing himself as
12:07 changed, he'd be able to get out of
12:09 jail. But now that won't happen. He's
12:11 shown everyone that he hasn't changed.
12:14 So that David is also a criminal in this
12:16 asylum just like him. And Anna, or
